This is our newly-redesigned enormous solid brass refractor antique reproduction telescope mounted on a solid teakwood and brass tripod.
These are not the inexpensive 8 - 12 power decorative versions made from thin 0.8 mm brass.
These have 32-power precision coated optics and are made with dent-resistant heavy 1.2 mm thick brass.
The telescope uses precision ground glass optics and produces a clear 32-power non-inverted image.
Mariners for many years have considered 32-power to be the ideal balance between magnification and field of view.
By rotating a large adjusting ring near the eyepiece, you can effectively focus an object.
The objective lens is protected from glare by a sunshade, and to improve contrast the inside of the telescope is coated flat black.
For when the telescope is not in use, a removable brass cap is included to be placed over the objective lens to protect it.
This telescope is available in two finishes: a polished brass model and an antique patina model.
The polished brass version has been hand polished to a high luster.
The polished telescope is 43 3/4 inches (111 cm) long, 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter, has a
tube outside diameter of 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm), and an objective lens diameter of 2 inches (5.1 cm).
The telescope with an antique patina finish is made to look like a 100 year old antique.
The antique patina finish never needs polishing and can be handled without tarnishing the brass.
The antique patina telescope is 43 3/4 inches (111 cm) long with the eyepiece fully extended, 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter, has a
tube outside diameter of 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm), and an objective lens diameter of 2 inches (5.1 cm).
When extended, the sunshade adds an additional 3 inches (7.6 cm) in length to both telescopes.
The Stanley London® telescope is mounted on a heavy solid brass casting and a three-legged
solid teak tripod base.
The telescope can achieve various heights from a maximum of 61 inches (155 cm) to a minimum
height of 38 inches (96.5 cm).
The hand polished brass telescope with tripod weighs 22 pounds (10 kg).
The antique patina finish telescope with tripod weighs 22 pounds (10 kg).
The telescope can be removed from the tripod without difficulty, and the tripod collapses efficiently
for compact storage.
Custom engraving is available near the eyepiece of the telescope with
up to two short lines of text, such as a name and a date.
Additionally, the main tube of the telescope can be engraved with artwork, a logo, or one to four longer lines of text.
Due to the large width of the engravable area, we suggest engraving full names rather than monograms or initials.
The solid brass strut on the tripod for the polished telescope can be engraved with up to six lines of text.
These heavy solid brass telescopes are perfect for your office, near a view window, or for celestial observations.
The 44-inch Brass Telescopes on Teak Tripods with either a polished finish
or an antique patina are available for $544.95.
We also have a Premium Quality 44-inch Clear Coated Brass Telescope, a
smaller and less expensive 30-inch Brass Telescope on a Hardwood Tripod
