Many years of use by ocean-going navigators have proven the high quality of the Tamaya Spica Nautical Sextant.
This sextant features an optical system designed to assure the maximum performance with a full 57mm index mirror.
The Tamaya Spica Sextant has a lightweight die cast aluminum alloy frame with a corrosion
resistant black finish and a Bronze arc for highly accurate +/-10 arcsecond readings.
We offer 4x40mm and 7x35mm telescopes that are interchangeable and have special rubber eye protectors.
The Tamaya Spica Nautical Sextant offers full illumination of both the arc and drum.
The fitted case can store the sextant with either scope mounted.

This sextant is fully functional for navigation and is accompanied by a certificate of calibration.

The sextant needs at least one telescope for use.
The 4x40 scope has a brighter image than the 7x35 monocular and is best for low-light
conditions or when the vessel is heaving.
The 4x40 scope has fully coated optics and a large 40 mm objective lens to yield a clear
four-power upright image.
The Tamaya 7x35 monocular scope is more powerful than the 4x40 scope and produces more accurate readings.
The Tamaya 7x35 monocular scope produces a clear high power 7-power wide angle non-inverted image.
The scope has fully coated optics and a large 35 mm objective lens.
Either scope fits both Tamaya's Spica and Jupiter Sextants and the storage case can hold the sextant and both telescopes.
