Calibration just takes a few seconds and simply requires turning the car or vessel in a full circle. So the next time the digital compass is turned on, the correct magnetic heading is displayed because the calibration parameters are stored in memory. If a recalibration is required, a reset button is located on the back of the unit. The digital compass includes three Duracell AAA batteries, and hook and loop self adhesive tape for easy mounting. The digital compass can be used in boats, however, sailboats under very large angles of heel will not yield accurate results.
