This miniature brass sextant is our most popular sextant and has a wide frame, fully adjustable
mirror mounts, a turned hardwood handle, and heavy filter mounts.
A slow motion control on the 4-inch (10 cm) radius brass sextant allows for precise
adjustment of the inclination angle.
It has a built-in large and powerful magnifier that can be swung into position to
assist in reading the German Silver vernier scale.
This solid brass sextant has been polished to a high-luster finish.

The sextant is beautifully made to quality standards.
It has four tinted swing-arm filters on thick brass mounts.
The index mirror has three adjustment screws.
The telescope has a focusing adjustment and provides a clear image.
The sextant (not including telescope) is 4 7/8 inches (12.4 cm) tall, 4 1/2 inches (11.4 cm) wide, and is 2 3/4 inches (7.0 cm) deep. |

| Small and accurate angular alterations are allowed by turning the fine tuning control. The half-silvered mirror allows concurrent viewing of the horizon and the celestial object. In order to determine the angle between the celestial object and the horizon you can adjust the fine tuning control until it causes the two images to converge. The sextant is built solid and weighs 1 pound, 3 ounces (547 grams). |

The built-in magnifier assists in reading the angle from the vernier scale. "Stanley London 1885" and a unique serial number is stamped on each sextant. These sextants can be engraved with your corporate name or logo on the hardwood case. Note that although these sextants are fully functional, they are not calibrated nor intended for navigation. They are perfect for the collector or the beginner interested in learning celestial navigation. |
| Accompanying the purchase of this sextant is a beautiful handcrafted hardwood storage and display box. The corners of the box are inlaid with light-colored hardwood splines and the interior is lined with felt. This sextant used to sell for $185 without a box, which was usually an additional $25. Now the 4-inch sextant with the storage / display box is only $145. |

Each box has an inlaid brass diamond on the lid, but please note that the inlaid brass diamond cannot be engraved. Individual custom engraved brass plaques can be mounted on the storage box, and are available in single or large quantities. |
