Stanley London® Solid Brass Sounding Sextant with Hardwood Case $105
This Stanley London® 3.5-inch (8.9 cm) radius sounding sextant is a reproduction of a rare and unique sextant.
The sounding sextant features fully adjustable index and horizon mirrors, a wide aspect ratio frame and no swing arm filters.
Fine adjustment of the elevation angle is permitted by moving a slow motion control. Also, there is a hardwood handle on the back on the sextant.
This sextant has a beautiful antique patina finish and each is engraved "Stanley London 1885" on the index arm.
The sextant measures 5 inches (12.7 cm) tall, 5 1/2 inches (14.0 cm) wide, 3 1/4
inches (8.3 cm) deep, and weighs one pound (454 grams).
Please note that the sextant is not calibrated nor intended for navigation or surveying, even though it is fully functional.
However, it is an unusual sextant and makes the perfect gift for the collector.
Additionally, the sextant comes complete with a beautiful handmade solid hardwood storage and display box.
The interior of the case has a maroon velvet lining.
Both the sextant and hardwood case are distressed to look like a 100-year old antique.
