Premium Quality Antique Reproduction Vernier Readout Serialized British Captain's Brass Sextant with Hardwood Case $220 This is a beautiful full-scale reproduction of the British Captain's 6-inch radius vernier readout brass nautical sextant.  Each Stanley London® premium quality Captain's sextant is expertly crafted from solid brass and marked with a unique serial number.  The sextant has an accurately divided German Silver scale, and a gear driven slow motion control for making small adjustments to the index arm.  To help in reading the vernier scale, a powerful magnifier can be swung into position.  A clear magnified image is produced by the sextant's telescope through its polished glass lenses.  The index mirror has three recessed adjustments.  There are six tinted swing-arm filters with heavy brass filter mounts.  A thick brass plaque engraved "Stanley London 1920" and the unique serial number is engraved on a hardwood handle on the back of the sextant. The hardwood case can be fitted with a custom engraved brass plaque either on the outside of the case, on the inside lid, or both. The sextant is 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall, 8 1/4 inches (21.0 cm) wide, and 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm) deep.  The sextant weighs 3 1/2 pounds (1.6 kg), the felt-lined hardwood case weighs 3 pounds (1.4 kg).  Please note that while this sextant is fully functional, it does not come with a certificate of calibration and is not intended for navigation.
