This large 28-inch Telescope is a beautiful full-sized solid brass antique reproduction of a spyglass telescope.
All components of this large telescope are made of threaded
solid brass tubing and fittings with no glued parts.
The optics are precision ground glass with anti-reflection coatings and the
objective lens has a diameter of 42 mm.
The powerful 16-power telescope produces a sharp non-inverting (upright) image through its
four brass pipes, the largest pipe being tapered.
To reduce lens flare a built-in sunshade extends 2 inches (5 cm).
It is solid, weighing 2 pounds, 13 ounces (1.3 kg).
The telescope measures 2 1/2-inch (6.4 cm) in diameter and 8 5/8 in. (21.9 cm)
long when collapsed.
When fully extended the telescope measures 28 1/2 inches (72.4 cm) long.
Accompanying the Stanley London® 28-inch Spyglass Telescope is a beautiful hardwood case.
The box interior has a dark green felt lining and the corners are inlaid with lighter hardwood
splines.
On the top of the case is an inlaid oval brass plate that is flush with the surface.
The case measures 9 3/4 inches (24.8 cm) long, 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) deep, and 3 3/8 inches (8.6 cm) tall.
Custom engraved brass plaques are also available.
